Research, Interpreted for Practice

Bridging rigorous research and real world decision-making to help leaders navigate an increasingly complex world.

WHO WE ARE

We are legal scholars, educators, and advisors helping leaders navigate an increasingly complex world.

Combining academic rigor with practical insight, we translate research into executive education, strategic conversations, and actionable guidance on the governance challenges shaping business, technology, and global affairs.

We believe important research should not remain within the academy. The most valuable ideas emerge from rigorous inquiry, but their greatest impact comes when they help leaders navigate real-world challenges.

Gray Dawn Breaking Co-Founder Carla L. Reyes Participates in CFTC Innovation Advisory Committee

Gray Dawn Breaking co-founder Prof. Carla L. Reyes participated in the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s inaugural meeting of the Innovation Advisory Committee as one of the Committee’s appointed members—and one of only two academic members. Reyes contributed to discussions at the intersection of innovation and governance, including regulatory protections for DeFi developers, the limits of intermediary-based regulation in high-technology markets, and the need to map the data supply chains underlying applications of AI in capital markets.

Her remarks on data supply chains reflect a growing focus of Gray Dawn Breaking’s work: helping organizations look beyond AI models themselves to understand the data, suppliers, infrastructure, transformations, and dependencies that make those systems possible—and the risks that may arise upstream.
